Compared with ordinary black (non-galvanized) seamless pipes, hot-dip galvanized seamless pipes offer superior corrosion protection, extending service life in harsh environments and reducing maintenance costs.
Characteristics of Hot-Dip Galvanized Seamless Pipe
Superior Corrosion Protection
The zinc coating provides both a barrier and cathodic protection, offering excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion, moisture, and many industrial environments. This significantly increases the service life compared to uncoated pipes.
High Strength & Durability
The pipe retains the high strength, pressure resistance, and durability of the underlying seamless steel pipe. The hot-dip galvanizing process does not generally compromise the base metal's mechanical properties.
Long Service Life & Low Maintenance
In many environments, galvanized seamless pipes can have a service life of several decades with minimal to no maintenance, offering excellent life-cycle cost-effectiveness.

Thickness tolerance |
The wall thickness tolerance of the base seamless pipe is governed by its manufacturing standard (e.g., GB/T 8163). Common tolerances range from ±12.5% to ±15% of the nominal wall thickness, depending on pipe grade and manufacturing method. The galvanizing process adds a coating but does not alter the base pipe's wall thickness tolerance. |

Galvanized steel pipe has a welded steel pipe with a hot dip or electro galvanized layer on the surface. Galvanization can increase the corrosion resistance of steel pipes and prolong the service life. Galvanized steel pipe has a wide range of uses, in addition to being used as a pipeline for general low pressure fluids such as water, gas and oil, it is also used as an oil well pipe and oil pipeline in the petroleum industry, especially in the marine oil fields, as an oil heater, condensation cooler and coal distillation and oil washing exchanger pipe for chemical coking equipment, and as a support frame pipe for trestle piles and mining pits, etc.
